Welcome

Welcome to the multiple intelligences program for developing the English language skills for the students at the preparatory schools. This program aims at developing the students' English language skills according to the multiple intelligences theory which was presented by Howard Gardner. According to Gardner, there are nine types of intelligences which are the linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, visual-spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, naturalistic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and existential intelligence. Gardner proposes that all students possess all nine intelligences, while they are different in the strength of each type of these intelligences. The multiple intelligence (MI) theory can be viewed as a powerful medicine for the problems of the current educational system.
The MI theory overcomes the problems of diverse learning styles and individual differences among the students. In English language classes it is possible to motivate students by various activities relating to the different types of intelligences. If the language learners do not understand the material in one way, they might comprehend it in another way, thus their progress is likely to develop.
In addition, the e-learning interactions provided by the program do not only improve the development of the students’ English language skills, but also enhance their motivation and interest in language learning. E-learning is the use of Internet technologies to improve learning and performance. E-learning improves the students control over content, pace of learning, learning sequence, and times in order to fulfill the intended learning outcomes. Thus, e-learning promotes students communication and interaction in a relatively easier, flexible and interactive manner. Moreover, e-learning stimulates independent learning with less interference from the teacher.
